Rural Industrilization


 

History of the Department:

Department of Rural Industraliasation S.G.A. Government Degree College, Yellamanchili Anakapalli District started in 2000. The department is catering the educational needs of Yellamanchili, Rambilli, Atchutapuram, S. Rayavaram and Nakkapalli Mandals of Anakapalli District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a co-educational course offering services to under graduate. Initially there were three lecturers in the Department of Economics later in the year 1999 Restructured and courses in Economics subject was introduced i.e. Rural Industrialization and Rural Development. Hence the Economics Department is with one lecturer and Rural Industrialization and Rural Development each with one lecturer. Now BA HERI (History, Economics and Rural Industrialization) the Restructured course is being run with 30 seats.

Objectives of the Department of Economics

  • Role and importance of industrialization in  Rural area
  • Main policies and programmes for the rural development of rural industries
  • Nature of employment and unemployment in rural economy
  • Skill to explore Rural Industriesin India.

Course Outcomes

CO1:  Analyze the Problems and Prospects of Rural Industrialization

  1. To Know the growth of village and rural industrializationin India
  2. To discuss the employment & income generation in rural areas during plan period.
  3. Analyze the rural Industries like Handloom
  4. Examine the causes for persistency of poverty and market imperfections
  5. Critically examine the the various strategies of RI
  6. Investigates the choice of technology

CO2: Economics of Problems and Prospects of Rural Industrialization

  1. Get knowledge on the role of state rural industrialization
  2. To Understand the policies relating to village industry and  new small enterprises
  3. Evaluate the intersectoral relations of  small scale industry
  4. Analyze the appropriate technology and views of Gandhi
  5. Examine the rural industries during the plan period.
  6. Investigate the labour  market monitoring

CO3: Entrepreneurship Development for Rural Industrialization

  1. To know  about the entrepreneurship Development in India
  2. Explain about  the  starting a Small Scale Industry
  3. Describe the evaluation of new venture opportunities
  4. Write about the Financing of Small Enterprises and Sources of Finance
  5. Critically analyze District Industries Centers
  6. Critically examine the  Problems of Rural Entrepreneurs

CO4: Micro Level planning for Rural Industrialization

  1. To know the importance of Micro Level Planning
  2. Write a report on  Tapping of Local Resources
  3. Discuss the Promotion of  Rural Industry
  4. Critically analyze the Providing Infrastructure in Rural Areas
  5. Critically examine the Establishment of Rural Industrial Training Centres
  6. Assessing  the Role of Voluntary Agencies
  7. Measure  the Creating Skills for Rural Industries
  8. Investigate the Role of various Agencies for Development of Rural Industries

The Following Specific objectives are visualized for met the above needs.

  • To draw out, cultivate excite and inspire the full development of each student in the subject RI.
  • To the students to speak of different concepts of their interest in the subject.
  • To improve the skills of students by rearranging field trips to different rural industries like sugar factories, coir industries, toy industries, brick, dairy farming and poultry farmes, etc., and varies marketing centers
  • To create a community of scholars where research, curiosity, free enquiry and discovery of advanced knowledge about RI.
  • To produce use full men and women in many professions like civil servants industrial managers and HR’s
  • Giving an analytical Account of theories and issues and cover subject matter systematically and lucidly so that an average student can easily understand it in a proper perspective by developing an integrated
